Sadly, most websites the average small business owner or service provider has. In essence. It’s nothing more than a glorified billboard in cyber space.
Because it’s a static site. Usually these types of sites have no proactive blog component. So the major search engines like Google. Pretty much ignore your/our sites.
Because they don’t have any or very little updated content. And by and large. Whenever a 1st or 2nd time visitor lands on your/our sites.
The very first few times. They’re not quite ready to spend any money yet, right? 😀 There’s no trust factor built after just one or two visits, agreed?
Which means on average. A staggering 99% of your/our 1st time visitors. Aren’t buying anything. So if you don’t offer some type of free. Problem solving. Opt in email building solution to everyone who doesn’t buy on their first few visits.
They leave. And you and I have no practical way to strategically and systematically follow up with them.
Your Website Is Supposed To Be A Real Money Making Asset! (Not Just An Expense!)
And rest assured. A free problem solving. Digital 1-3 page cheat sheet. Will be enticing to some of the 99%. Who aren’t quite ready to buy! Case in point.
An HVAC repair and service specialist. Could offer a free list building giveaway titled. “Seven Simple Questions You Definitely Need To Get Clear Answers To! (Before You Even Think About Hiring a HVAC Professional!”)
An accountant’s free lead magnet giveaway on their website or stand alone capture page might be. Something like. ( You have to inexpensively A/B split test!) “Free 3 Page Special Report Finally Reveals! (The Real Reason Why Your Business Or Service Is Constantly Paying A Bare Bones Minimum of 25% In Federal Incomes Taxes!”) (And To Prevent It Once And For All!)
Hopefully you see the difference between! A glorified billboard style website!
Or customer or 24/7 client generating asset! And if you’re site is ecommerce based! They you definitely want to offer your visitors. A sexy/attractive enough discount coupon!
To get them to volunteer their most accurate contact info! Otherwise, your outrageously expensive billboard type of glorified, brochureware site! Is costing instead of making you money! Don’t you agree?
