Whose Says Strategic Email Marketing Is Strictly Old School?

Entrepreneur is this ironic or what? You get an email, (or series of email messages) from some relatively unknown marketer or an extremely well recognized guru or guruette.

And they’re trying like everything to convince us. Strategic email marketing is all but dead. (Say what?) Ever get one of those or a series of those types of email messages? Me too. But here’s the catch. They sent us an email message or a series of them to pound into our collective heads how list building and strategic email marketing is strictly old school.

In order to prime us for whatever it is they’re currently or soon will be promoting as supposedly the real alternative of choice. (Word to the wise.) Don’t be fooled or led down an empty rabbit hole.

Because -truth told- strategic email marketing is many things. But it’s far from dead. Turn the page and see for yourself.

Entrepreneur Consistently Growing Your Business Or Service On Or Offline! (Should Definitely Involve Some Type Of Customized Email Marketing Campaigns!)

Case in point. At least some of you are already familiar with my expert seven figure earning friend, coach and mentor James McAllister of jamesmcallisteronline.com fame, right?

And while Aweber is my current paid email service provider of choice. (You can feel free to create your free limited account using my affiliate link.) And while you free account is limited. You don’t have to start paying a nickel until your account reaches or exceeds 500 subscribers.

And if it never does you never pay a nickel for your limited account. (I just thought I’d make you aware of your potential money making options.) Currently James uses Active Campaign as his paid email service provider of choice.

And here are at least five potentially profitable reasons for him doing so. (Note: James is a whole lot further along and far more advanced and sophisticated than I currently am. (That’s “why” he’s my friend, expert coach and mentor.)

So he and others on his level and beyond definitely need a more advanced paid email service provider. In order to fully customize his campaigns to the degrees necessary.

Segmenting Your Subscribers Is A Proven Email Marketing Strategy!

So he and they can maximize their overall email marketing returns. But it’s not necessary to have access to all this far more sophisticated bells & whistles in order to started.

1.) Potentially profitable reason # one: James has his Active Campaign accounts set up so he can easily and systematically track and monitor which specific products or services were at least viewed or purchased.

And now he can customize future email messages to this particular segment based off what they actually did.

 2.) Potentially profitable reason # two: He (and other users of the service) can systematically track whether his subscribers respond best to either, benefit driven, curiosity or fear based subject lines.

 3.) Potentially profitable reason # three: He can also track whether, or which of his subscriber responds best to either negative or positive messages. And adjust his current and future messages to each particular segment accordingly.

4.) Potentially profitable reason # four: He builds long term strategic profiles based on what specific emails his subscribers open and click through on. Now he has a much better idea of their likes and dislikes.

5.) Potentially profitable reason # five: And depending on which page on his site(s) a subscriber opts in from. They get a customized lead magnet and laser targeted follow up campaign to go along with it. (FYI: He’s written an extremely informative blog posts about “how” many subscribers do you need to make money?

Entrepreneur You Definitely Don’t Need All The Fancy Bells And Whistles In Order To Get Started!

Let’s say you run a single location, non franchised musical instruments store. And you offer free (string or electric) guitar lessons via a stand alone, fully functional landing  page form. (Like the sample one featured below. Or it could be a simple sign up form of your blog or ecommerce site-s home page. Generally located in the sidebar area. )

Strategic Email Marketing Not Only Gives You Some Of Your Time Back! (But Also Allows You To Create Some Potentially Bank Account Bank Filling Marketing Leverage As Well!)

While it may not be readily obvious. Just under the text box where the subscribers enter their best email address. You notice it says “Your current guitar playing level, correct?

And it says “Basic beginner” with a drop down arrow. If that opt in form were actually a live form. The subscriber would be able to click the down arrow and either select “Intermediate or “Advanced” level.

And depending on which selection they made. Going forward both the pre- written and the previously unscheduled “broadcast” email messages they received. Would be fully customized to their initial selections.

So a subscriber who selected advance would be notified about any new equipment which typically only an advanced customer would probably have the most interest in.

The More Customized And Laser Targeted Your Email Messages Are! (The More Likely They Will Consistently Generate The Long Term Results You Want!)

Let’s say your stores entire opt in email list was currently 459 total subscribers or X. But only 117 consider themselves at the “Intermediate” level. Then it only makes sense to periodically send this particular “segment/group) messages which match their current level of interest, right?

(And hopefully you can see and appreciate “how” you or your major competitors can successfully “model” this same concept. And customize it for your “Yoga” classes. And your sign up form or your separate fully functional landing page would offer beginners, intermediate or advanced workshops etc.)

Entrepreneur, initially (strategically segmenting) your opt in email list in this basic way. Is just one of the proven ways strategic email marketing not only gives you or your major competitors part of your time back.

But it’s also a proven way to help X your current front and back end -long term gross profits. Don’t you agree? So “what” the heck are you waiting for? Get to both systematically building and strategically segmenting your opt in email subscribers. And watch your learn term gross profits start to grow.
