Before getting fully started. And diving head long into the extreme diverse topic for this particular post. Entrepreneur are there any particular reasons why? You constantly turn up your nose.
Whenever the subject of speaking for free locally comes up. For some odd reasons. The vast majority of! Especially of you who just initially starting out. Act as if it’s a federal offense. To speak locally for free.
Especially if you’re not exactly a household name just yet. 😀 Maybe it’s time to rethink things just a bit?…..
So What Exactly Are You Plan Of Doing To Start Building Brand Visibility? (For Literally Pennies On The Dollar!)
Perhaps at least some of you recognize the guy in the featured image for this particular post? If not, why it’s one of my multi seven figure a year earning coaches and mentors.
That being the oh so brilliant Brian Fanale of Digital Mentors fame. (And just in case some of you still don’t know. Digital Mentors is an online company.
Which has already earned in excess of $57 million dollars. So they definitely know a thing or two about how to successfully market, promote and advertise online. Don’t you agree? 😀
Anyway, the reason ‘why’ I chose this particular image for this post. Is because Brian wrote about speaking to local groups. (And not necessarily for free mind you.)
But here was the main point he was making. Fellow profit seeking entrepreneurs. Take a look at the size of the audience.
Without knowing for sure. How large of a crowd it actually is. (Strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only.) Let’s say it’s a local event of some kind.
And you and Brian and other qualified experts. Are guest speakers. And you each get anywhere from 45-60 minutes. To demonstrate your particular area of expertise.
But you’re informed well before the event(s.) Because you’re not a household name just yet. They can and are only allowing you talk for free. (Or not at all!) Should or would you go ahead and speak or not?
Would Or Do You Object To Systematically Growing Exponentially?
Ladies & gentlemen I don’t pretend to know what’s the right choice for you! 😀 However, here’s what my coach & mentor Brian Fanale pointed out.
Let’s say you have an introductory offer. Which would typically sell for $297 dollars per customer, student and or client. And sell a mere 10 or X% of the room. Ten percent of 500 is 50, correct? (500 x .10% = 50.)
50 customers x $197 per customer, student and or client etc. Equals an initial front end gross profit of $9,850 dollars. (50 x $197 = $9.850 dollars.)
But what ‘if’ only 50 locals show up live. And you and or one of your main competitors only sell the same 10% of those in attendance. Times the say $197 dollars per student/customer. (50 x .10%= 5 front end sales, right? And 5 sales @ $197 each. Means you and or your major local competitor. Still grossed an impressive $4,925 dollars or X.
For anywhere from 45- 60 minutes of your time. Entrepreneur what’s that per hour? How does t compare to your current hourly rates? Where do I sign up? 😀
