Creative marketing  (Just Make Darn Sure You Consistently Test As You Go!)

Hopefully at least some of you are already familiar with. A post I previously published. Both on my blog. As well as recently on Linkedin.

About ‘how” a former struggling door to door sales rep. During the 60’s and mid 70’s. Stumbled upon the idea. Of using extremely time sensitive discount coupons. For back then. Two lb. boxes of washing detergent.

To offer to every stay at home mom or grandmother. Who at least opened the door.

And in exchange for 45-60 minutes of their time! (Whether they decided to purchase a vacuum or not! 😎 They got the money saving discount coupon. Which they could would gladly redeem at a popular, local suer market in their immediate area.

Call it creative marketing incentives! Or whatever you want! Just inexpensively test this mega profit boosting marketing strategy. And see for yourself! Fair enough?

Strategically Growing Your Business And Or Service Is Almost Inevitable! (With The Right Strategic Alliances!)

Fellow profit seeking entrepreneurs. Strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. Let’s further explore. Some potentially profitable Joint Venture revenue sharing arrangements/possibilities.

All of the major players could and definitely should be at least inexpensively testing various marketing/promotional possibilities. Don’t you agree?

Case in point. As you recall in the Linkedin post. A once struggling door to door vacuum cleaner sales rep. Says after watching a popular day time TV game show.

Got the idea to start offering residents an extremely time sensitive discount coupon. Simply for allowing him and eventually other outside sales reps.

To present their 45-60 minute demonstration/presentation. And in those days. 99% percent of the time. It was either stay at house wives or grand mothers who opened the doors.

So the exchange was. Simply for sitting through the entire demonstration/presentation. Whether they bought a vacuum or not. They got a discount coupon for, (in those days.)

Was for a 2lb. sample of non major brand detergent. 😀 (In other words entrepreneur. The detergent distributor was proactively distributing an up and coming, non mega brand washing detergent. 😀

Who more than likely. Were more than willing to give up a little front end gross profit. In order to build a long term bankable brand down the road. On the back end.

Now Let’s Talk About some Potentially Profitable!  (As Well As Effective Lead Generation Strategies And Tactics!)

Case in point. For just a moment. Think about “how” much potential gross profit. The manufactures and distributors actual make on the initial front end of a 2 or X lb. sample box of non brand name detergent. 😀

However, think about the following, potentially lucrative JV revenue sharing possibilities. If you’re a local, non franchised retail appliance store owner.

Would you rather constantly spend. (More like constantly waste a proverbial fortune! 😎 On outrageously expensive. Hit and miss traditional ad campaigns.

What “if” instead. The extremely marketing savvy retailer(s.) Starting allowing the outside reps. (From various local companies and organizations.) As well as local telemarketing firms. To offer their respective target audiences.

Go Ahead And Start Systematically Leveraging The Various Opportunities Right In Front Of You!

Some of the retailers best market tested, extremely time sensitive discount coupons. And allow them to give them away to local potential customers of the aforementioned.

Either as free incentive based bonuses. Or as free upsell bonuses worth X. If the consumers either spend at least X. Or if they provided written testimonials. (Keep in mind. Back then there was no video marketing capabilities.

Like there are today. Nor was there any opt in email technology back then either! 😀

But here’s the other marketing possibility. The retail appliance stores discount coupon. Would  invite the recipients to enter their monthly free drawing. For the recipients chance to enter the retailers monthly or quarterly free drawing.

For their chance to win a state of the art washer & dryer. (State of the art for that particular time mind you! 😎 Plus as an additional sweetener. Each monthly or quarterly 1st grand prize winner.

Also wins 5 or X number of 10 or X lb. boxes of non brand detergent. 😀  This should be more than enough incentive. To cause a ton of the locals to return the post card/index cards etc.

And the each month. Say 25 or X number of locals. Would automatically win an extremely time sensitive coupon. Where they can save 20 or X% off a state of the art wash & dryer!

They drag a friend, bestie, neighbor, co-worker, sibling, in-law etc. Who’s at least 18.

They automatically save at least 30 or X% off the wash & dryer. And all the remaining runner ups. They automatically save 10 or X% off their total purchases.

But simply for dragging a friend who’s at least 18.They automatically save double or 20% off their total purchases.

So call it creative marketing or whatever floats your boat fellow profit seeking entrepreneurs. The bottom line to it all. Start leveraging and maximizing your opportunities. Make sense?
