So What Does The Caterpillar To Butterfly Evolution Have To Do With Making Money?

Have you ever noticed or wondered (out loud) how the caterpillar to butterfly evolution, actually serves as a proven step by step blueprint, for systematically increasing your sales? Of course at first glance it probably sounds or seems like a bit of a stretch.
But it’s really not quite as far fetched as you may initially think. In fact, upon closer examination, the entire caterpillar to butterfly evolution, really serves as a proven road map to more sales.
How you ask rather skeptically? Well, let’s take a closer look at the caterpillars slow walk metamorphosis for the answers. And then compare it to what typically happens in your sales process and see what the comparisons reveals.
It really is amazing how much nature can teach you/us about the real world. Especially as it relates to business. Let’s have a closer look..
So How Does The Caterpillar To Butterfly Evolution Process Help You Grow Your Business?
Well, to start it all has to do with the ninth word in the aforementioned headline (process), because you see, you, me or your prospect doesn’t exactly go from one extreme to another, just like that! Do we? Case in point: if your door bell rings right now and you answer it and there’s a well dressed man or woman standing there, that you’ve never seen before.
In other words, a complete stranger is at your door and they’re trying to sell you some rather elaborate widget, that cost just, you fill in the blank! Honestly, on a scale of one to ten. What are the odds of you buying it right on the spot? Exactly!
On the other hand, let’s suppose they offer you a really cool free ethical bribe of some kind, valued at X. In exchange for just 30- 45 minutes of your extremely valuable time.
And even if you don’t buy anything right then and there, they’ve got your contact information and you both agree that they’ll periodically check in (strategically follow up) with you with going forward.
Would or could you call that a process? Bingo. So now, let’s take a look at the lowly caterpillar. Does the caterpillar simply go to sleep on Monday & wake up on Tuesday, a full fledged butterfly? Nope. Instead, they first go from a lowly caterpillar, then they evolve into a cocoon, right?
Then from the cocoon, they first (typically) shed their skin at least four times! Can you believe that? Then they finally emerge as one of natures most awesome creations, that being a full blown butterfly!
Isn’t It Amazing How Much The Long Term Sales Process Is A Lot Like The Caterpillar To Butterfly Evolution!
Now let’s take a really closer look at you entire successful sales process. First of all, there’s your all important brand new first time customer or client. They don’t start out as a brand new first time customer or client, do they? Not at all.
They first start out as a complete stranger, right? Then, once they join your on or offline database (your list), they now have become a semi qualified potential prospect, agreed? Well, to this point in the evolutionary process, they’re in the cocoon so to speak. Because even though they’re further along in the process than a complete stranger (or the initial caterpillar ) stage.
They haven’t actually bought anything yet. But they’re evolving are they not? And finally, they make that (all important) very first purchase of some kind! Finally, they’ve fully evolved into a first time customer or client.
Now here’s the $64,000 dollar question. From the very first time your prospect comes in contact or is introduced to your business, product or service, did they or do they instantly become a first time customer or contact? Probably not right? So just like the delicate balance act of the caterpillar to butterfly process.
It takes time to go from initial potential prospect to first time customer or client, does it not? So (overall) the two processes really aren’t all that different, are they? Your thoughts.
