If This Proven Money Making Marketing Strategy Is Good Enough For HBO?

(Why Isn’t It Good Enough For You?)

Entrepreneur, would you say the execs at HBO are dumb or stupid? How about extremely short sighted?  Probably not right? Well, that being the case, what if anything, do you think the execs at HBO, can teach you about using a battlefield tested marketing strategy?

After all, they’ve literally got millions of loyal subscribers, right? And that doesn’t happen simply because your customer service reps are friendly! Right!

For sure they’ve got a few prove marketing tricks up their sleeve. So let’s take a look at one such proven strategy they use to laugh all the way to the bank!

How Beyonce HBO And This Incredibly Powerful Marketing Strategy Can And Will Make You An Awful Lot Of Money!

It’s a pretty safe bet that most of you are familiar with Superstar Pop diva Beyonce, correct? And you know that when and wherever she gives a live concert, she draws an awful lot of people, correct? Oh yea! However, that being the case, let’s suppose Beyonce plays her typical live venue (meaning) she plays a stadium that holds roughly 20,000 screaming fanatical and extremely loyal fans!

Of course, (it’s understood) that if the stadium is large enough to hold 80,000 people, that she could definitely fill it! But we’re talking about her typical venue!

And of course, just like with boxing ticket prices, the closer you are to the actual performer, the more expensive the tickets are! (Now that’s a real shocker!)And by the same token, the far you are away, the less expensive the tickets are.

Entrepreneur, take a look at this! Even though we just established the overall ticket prices will most certainly vary, just depending on where you actually sit. But just so you can focus on what’s really important, in this particular marketing strategy, let’s just suppose that all the tickets sold for this one particular Beyonce concert are all $50 dollars.

And since we already established the fact that the typical stadium that she performs in holds roughly 20,000 of the faithful. Here’s the $64,000 dollar question? How much  will team Beyonce gross in one night for this particular two to three concert extravaganza? Let’s see here, (by my calculations) $50 dollars per ticket X 20,000 screaming fans = a cool $1,000,000 (million) dollars gross profit, right?

Why Would HBO Or Any Savvy OTHER Promoter Over Pay By A Whooping One Thousand Percent!

So here’s the thing; you’re watching HBO, and after the movie plays and before the next one starts, HBO announces they got her exclusively for one night! And one night only! Her (in this particular case) refers to Beyonce (or superstar X.)

But get this, the financial newspaper and TMZ etc, announces (more likes) leaks, that HBO or Showtime etc; is paying a staggering $10,000,000 -million- dollars (or some seemingly outrageous figure) for her royal-ness! Say what?

But why on earth would they (meaning HBO or the Showtime network) over pay by a staggering 1,000 percent? Because we’ve already established, that on a typical night, even if  team Beyonce charged all 20,000 attendees, $50 dollars each, the most she’d gross would be a cool million dollars? (Even if she charged all 20,000 fans $100 dollars each, she’d still only gross $2,000,0000 -million- dollars!)

And earlier in this post, you agreed the execs at HBO or Showtime aren’t stupid, right? So why the heck are they wasting all this money?

Basically, entrepreneur there are at least three distinct (long term) money making reasons!

1.) First of all, they(HBO or Showtime) advertises this one night event all over regular network TV as well. Which means, about 2-5 million people, that don’t currently  have the premium channel will immediately get it! The actual number of new subscribers, just depends on how popular the superstar entertainer is, that they use at the lead generating carrot!

2.) Next, because HBO or Showtime has already run their numbers, they know that of these millions of new subscribers, at X amount of dollars per month! Anywhere from 10-30% of them (or more) on average will buy at least two pay per view events per year, for as long as they keep the service!

3.) And finally, entrepreneur, those new subscribers, which literally totals in the millions by the way! Guess what?

After Beyonce (or superstar entertainer X’s)  one night stand concert, they don’t cancel the service! Or let’s say on average, less than five percent does! The other 95% keep if for at least five years!

You do the math! Hopefully, now you can see, why? So if this proven long term money making marketing strategy is good enough for HBO! Why pray tell, isn’t it good enough for you?
