Five Things You Might Seriously Consider Before You Hire A Top Web Design Company!

Ever hear the story of “how” the otherwise savvy entrepreneur and or small business owner decides to save a few bucks and instead of going the more conventional route and hiring a more well known and established web design company, instead they opted to hire one of their closest associates niece or nephews and well, you probably figured out the end of the story, right? It happens all the time.

The allure (more like) fantasy of saving a few bucks, temporarily clouds an entrepreneurs better judgement and they almost always live to regret it…..

Before You Decide To Hire Any Web Design Company!

(Here Are Five Things You Definitely Need To Consider!)

The last thing you want (and can afford) to happen is, the so called web designer takes the money, but never delivers the goods! It happens far more than you might think. Next, you want to have at least an at arms length relationship with your potential web design firm.

Which means, no hiring your best friends cousin and or your hair dresser’s temporarily out of work daughter! Because if the need arises, you at least want to be able negotiate and or harshly criticize their work, if need be!

And it’s in that spirit that you definitely need to have a look at these five major considerations, before you finalize the deal. This way, if nothing else, you  can increase your profits simply by avoiding some totally unnecessary losses!

1.) Consideration # one: First things first. let’s have a look at their portfolio of past projects from past or current customers/clients etc! And go from there.

2.) Consideration # two: Next, make sure (you) at least have an overall maximum budget, that you can safely afford to invest in your project. And do try and stay within it!

3.) Consideration # three: If you’ve decided to outsource your entire project outside of your country, make sure there isn’t any type of potential communication issues!

4.) Consideration # four: And believe it or not, it really helps if you or your organization, at least have a general idea of “what” type of site you want. And if you’re going to have a blog component, then you probably want to go with a self hosted version of WordPress.

5.) Consideration # five: And finally… checking out a few positive referrals never ever hurt anything.

This is just a short check list, just to get things started. But it will certainly help make properly evaluating, then ultimately choosing  web design company a little easier. Don’t you agree?

  2. Hi Mark
Well said!! Business owner decides to save a few bucks and instead of going the more conventional route and hiring a more well known same with me also. But after reading your this article I have changed my mind now I will go for professionals only taher than nephew or niece to work with.
    Thanks for this information.

  3. Hi Mark,

These are spot on suggestions for hiring a web designer. I have never used a professional web designer but I’ve done lots of designing myself and it can be a lot of work.

I sometimes laugh because I should have been a web designer myself. I enjoy the design part and change my sites all the time. Of course it helps to learn html which I’ve done but then it really becomes a lot of work, and for someone starting out it’s better to just hire someone so you can get on with business.

    Good advice here Mark.

    Blessings,
    Liz
